FAQs
-
M²PO programmes are designed for motivated students studying IB Mathematics, IB Physics, or first-year engineering modules who want to develop deeper problem-solving ability and improve their exam performance.
Students typically join to strengthen their conceptual understanding, prepare for challenging exam questions, or build the analytical skills required for engineering and physics degrees.
-
Each week follows a structured format inspired by university teaching:
• Concept Session (2 hours) – Core theory, visual explanations, and guided examples
• Problem-Solving Tutorial (2 hours) – Collaborative work on challenging problems and past exam questionsStudents also receive structured problem sets and access to recordings of all sessions.
-
Cohorts are intentionally small, typically no more than 8 students.
This allows students to ask questions freely, participate in discussions, and receive individual feedback while still benefiting from collaborative learning.
-
While 1-to-1 tutoring can provide personalised support, many students benefit more from learning in a small academic cohort.
Working alongside other motivated students encourages discussion, exposes learners to different problem-solving approaches, and builds deeper understanding of challenging concepts. The structured format of the programme combines concept sessions with problem-solving tutorials while also mirroring the way mathematics and engineering subjects are taught at university.
For students who require additional personalised support, a limited number of 1-to-1 sessions are also available.
-
Yes. A limited number of 1-to-1 sessions are available for students who require personalised support.
However, most students benefit more from the structured cohort programme, where they can learn collaboratively and work through challenging problems together.
-
Admission involves three steps:
1️⃣ Book a free discovery session
2️⃣ Complete a short diagnostic challenge
3️⃣ Receive an invitation to join the cohortThis ensures that each cohort consists of motivated students with similar goals and commitment levels.
-
Students attend 4 hours of live sessions per week, consisting of a 2-hour concept session and a 2-hour problem-solving tutorial.
In addition, students receive structured weekly problem sets designed to reinforce the material covered in class. Students should expect to spend several additional hours each week working through these problems.
Throughout the programme, students also have access to bi-weekly interactive problem-solving streams, where challenging questions are solved live and students are encouraged to ask questions.
Each student may also schedule up to 2 hours of optional 1-to-1 support across the 12-week programme to discuss specific difficulties or receive personalised guidance.
Progress depends on consistent effort: students who actively engage with the sessions and complete the problem sets tend to see the greatest improvement.
-
Many students who join the programme report significant improvements in both their understanding and exam performance, and this is reflected in the feedback and reviews from past students.
However, improvement ultimately depends on active participation and consistent effort. The programme provides structured teaching, challenging problem sets, and guided support, but students are expected to engage fully with the material and dedicate time outside of sessions to practice.
Students who attend sessions regularly, complete the weekly problem sets, and actively participate in discussions typically see the greatest progress.
